the problem is the fact that cruz hawley and the seditionists + the cops who willingly allowed this to happen will almost certainly not see real consequences.

the protections of the law (and the benefit of the doubt) are _consistently_ overextended to those with power and privilege.

the constraints of the law are consistently overextended with anyone who does not have power and privilege.

THAT is the problem.

the problem is that, if the law and its constraints are not applied to the insurrectionists, they will simply become emboldened and we will be set down a path that we likely cannot turn back from.

that’s assuming we haven’t been set down that path already.
