"Hitman 3" is worth it based on the 2nd level alone.

It's a "Knives Out"-style murder mystery set in a countryside British mansion. In "Hitman 3," I forgot I was there to murder someone while I spent hours trying to solve someone else's murder mess. https://www.washingtonpost.com/video-games/reviews/hitman-3-impressions/
One of the loudest criticisms of "Cyberpunk 2077" was that people hoped it would have unique NPC routines.

The "Hitman" series has been offering this exact feature for 14 years. The NPC behavior and pathing is among the most immersive in the industry. https://www.washingtonpost.com/video-games/reviews/hitman-3-impressions/
The "Hitman" series has maintained a loyal following, but has struggled to gain a wide audience.

"Hitman 3" is just another winner in a series that has given some of the smartest games ever created, hiding in plain sight. https://www.washingtonpost.com/video-games/reviews/hitman-3-impressions/
"Hitman" games have gotten attention because of violence, curious since the series is largely about being passive.

"Hitman" aren't action games. They are immersive point and click puzzle adventure games. "3" offers the highest realization of this concept https://www.washingtonpost.com/video-games/reviews/hitman-3-impressions/
For everyone asking how the new "Hitman" trilogy works, "3" is essentially the third and final season in a story, but all 3 games are essentially mission packs that can be played in any order, like selecting DVD chapters. Play any of it, anytime. https://www.washingtonpost.com/video-games/reviews/hitman-3-impressions/
It's probably best to start with "1," if you're new to the series, since "3" starts out on the 150th floor of a Dubai building, an overwhelming and opulent beginning with unusually high stakes for a Hitman game.

Start on the bottom floor. Hitman 1. https://www.washingtonpost.com/video-games/reviews/hitman-3-impressions/
oh and I played it on PC. and as far as technicals go, my game crashed 2 times, and i of course couldn't test any of the online only aspects. so, needs a little sprucing up and hardly worth mentioning atm, but just to emphasize this was a preview build i played.
Reminder: IO Interactive is the developer on the next James Bond game, "Project 007."

Meanwhile, they've been making the best James Bond games ever, all in the guise of the "Hitman" series. These games best capture the "social" aspects of being Bond. https://www.washingtonpost.com/video-games/reviews/hitman-3-impressions/
yesssssss perfect comparison pics.

Hitman 3. Knives out. https://twitter.com/lucaslu_ckli/status/1347590734195646464
It's worth reminding that "Hitman" hits can be carried out any way you wish. I chose the "Knives Out" detective route of course. But I was standing next to my target the whole time. I could've easily grabbed a wine bottle and killed her anytime. https://www.washingtonpost.com/video-games/reviews/hitman-3-impressions/
I could've pretended to be the family portrait photographer. If they found me out, I could've thrown a coffee mug at my target and just hastily run out of the mansion. Part of the fun is seeing how you can royally screw things up. https://www.washingtonpost.com/video-games/reviews/hitman-3-impressions/
