One thing always strange to me is how many ppl can look at some other country where this dynamic is gaining steam and *recognize* how dangerous it is for stability, and recognize that which side is good/bad has little to do with effectively stopping it. https://twitter.com/FormerlyFormer/status/1347572173142159360
So you’ll hear Americans airily say things like “You people are going to have to work out some mutual compromise - even if you think the other side is batshit - or you’re going to end up killing each other. How can you be this stupid? STOP ESCALATING!” re: other countries.
But they cannot for the life of them recognize that same dynamic playing out here.
So unless you *literally and seriously believe* that your neighbors need to be lined up and shot tomorrow - and I mean in every bit of the bloody and horrendous brutality that would entail - it’s unwise to continue speaking of them in that manner.
This is not a game.
This is not a game.
Oh, and everyone can tell the diff between being deliberately facetious/hyperbolic about, say, “Kill all the lawyers” and the actual prospect of them being worthy of extermination entering the public discourse.
Don’t pretend you *genuinely* can’t tell the difference. You can.
