So, #footballindex are scrapping IPDs...
I've been a vocal supporter of IPDs and would be lying if this doesn't affect me negatively in the short term, but looking beyond my portfolio I have a few thoughts...

POSITIVE #1
The criticism of short-termism makes it clear that FI are committed to long-term betting.
This commitment to their core vision is good to hear and frankly long overdue, although it does raise the question as to why IPDs were ever introduced in the first place.

POSITIVE #2
Opening doors for overseas expansion is also positive, although once again if this was already known its quite incredible that IPDs have lasted this long.
It suggests a split between seeking quick wins and pursuing a long-term strategy that remains a concern.

CONCERN #1
IPDs will have been attractive to traders that want/need to see quick and regular rewards, and were also the simplest part of the platform to sell to new users..
Expectations for short-term growth may need to be tempered.

CONCERN #2
As with the removal of IS, this takes away demand from another chunk of the player pool, meaning by the time IPDs are removed many will be left with players that have lost significant value.
There will likely be even more 'trapped' capital at the end of this.

NEUTRAL
This will undoubtedly draw questions of FIs finances.
There is good reason to believe this is a strategic decision, but it may have been prompted for financial reasons. If so, it would make it a reactive decision when I would rather see them acting proactively.
