I know it would make us feel better to think the evangelical political mess exists primarily on Twitter/angry blogs/ because of famous megachurch pastors, but I can tell you from my own experience and the dozens of messages I get a week: that's just not true. Not even close.
A woman messaged me about leaving her church over Trumpism: "That was my home, and now I'm homeless."
There are small, faithful churches.
But to think that the problem is only on the internet, or hyped by media, is not to listen to hurting people. Especially the marginalized.

Because just like you don't hear the stories of small, faithful churches, you also won't hear the stories of people hurt by their small, broken church.
I feel quite honored to hear those stories regularly, and I can't share them for obvious reasons. But they are everywhere.
