I’ve previously written that there is no constitutional impasse to Trudeau rating national minimum standards for lockdown. Because of the new strain, these have to be more stringent than I once imagined. It is is a matter of life or death for thousands or tens of thousands.

And what’s going to happen once that new strain, being about 50% easier to transmit, gets a toehold in facilities like care homes or jails where transmission is already ultra-hard to interdict? Yep, you guessed it.

What can happen if Trudeau goes on dithering? Look at Ireland.
