By now many here in Toledo have probably seen this from wife of the owner of the Blade @toledonews and likely the writers response to it. Well I’m not here to add on to it, but this whole thing makes me think of things past. So sit back and hear a tale of a fateful trip...
We start back in the halcyon days of 07-08, and at that time I distinctly remember a certain radio station in this town @1370wspd (henceforth referred to as WGOP) and its pm host at the time Brian Wilson spending half of his show everyday going after the Blade and the Blocks...
And it was always the same “Blocks and the Blade and don’t believe the librul lies etc” (so yeah that was actually a thing regardless of what they were then or now-and believe what you will on that front). Basically it was all the same stuff we’ve heard form GOP media 4 years...

WGOP of course to this day graces us with such luminaries as Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and Sean Hannity. I will not comment on the current local hosts as I don't listen but will say @fredlefebvre was always a decent guy to me personally as at this time I was working there...
I worked as the occcasional phone screener, traffic reports, game board-op and co-hosted a little listens to Sunday night sports show as that was my interests not politics. Thank goodness I was "saved" by great longtime Toledo sportscaster @normwamer...
So which is it, is @toledonews a conservative or liberal rag or just a standard local paper/outlet? I leave that for you to decide. Anyway, I also remember the time just before I was save, in 2010 when the Tea Party started and the meeting we all had ahead of it...
It was made with a wink and nod that WGOP was "sponsoring" the event. These are the initial 4/15/09 "protests" But don't mention that kind thing as was also implied. I made up an excuse so that I didn't have to go because we kind of were told to go...
Then you have the "straight news division" which at the time was a family affair of its own, headed by "award winning 'journalist'" Cassie Wilson. Why the ""? Well back in Oct. 08 for about a week WGOP was airing segments on the "news" reports about evil libruls messing....
With McCain yard signs. I spoke with her in passing one day that week that yeah that is messed up just like I saw an inter-racial couple on my way home the other day cleaning the swastikas off their Obama sign you should interview them too...
Will never forget as long as I live her response as it was so eye opening to how con media works even at the most local level: "Our listeners don't want to hear about that." Think about that and the implications. The listeners only want affirmation not information...
Facts are facts and they don't care about feelings (cliche at this point I know right). These things are why we have so many believing so much nonsensical bs, enough to drive otherwise decent people to go and do insane things like storming a capital over insanity...
In light of the local twist on what we all witnessed in the last 48hrs, we must remember what Kennedy said about all breathing the same air etc and if we want to go out and make a difference other than the ballot box (which was not rigged in the way some are thinking)...
And if we want to protest someplace, which the logical places like courts, legislatures or what not are ok (PEACEFULLY), maybe we at time should also consider other places that contribute to the muddying of waters that put us in a position where no one trusts...
Anything from anyone we should also consider the following places as well: Your local GOP party HQ, I-Heart Radio Toledo, The Blade, and your local Den party HQ (oh you thought I'd spare you). And here I'l contribute with publicly available info anyone can access...

We can do this GOP, Den, Liberal, Moderate, Conservative and we can again start at a place where facts are facts and we can do it peacefully I really believe that, but we must let go of all the hate way too many of us have had for way too long in order to get the better society..
We deserve. We are neighbors after all and we all just want a better life for ourselves and our posterity and all the hate and misinformation is THE roadblock to getting this. None of this should be that hard, but until we can rid ourselves of those that have been...
Manipulating us for their own selfish benefits we will sadly never achieve the and we will continue to escalate on all sides until we are in a place none of us want to be in.
