Put it simply, I was confused with the Saliba situation too. Arsenal already admitted it was a mistake not putting him in the EL squad.

But now the player himself has come out and said he was off the pace physically. Guess it proves that the management know more than us

Of course he'll be disappointed at not having the chance to get back to speed, but it is now fairly obvious he wasn't ready and all this is to protect him and his development.

He had a fissure of the 5th metatarsal last season which slowed his progress too and he didn't get...

as many games as expected (i.e. a full season). Once again I reiterate, I really wanted to see him play as I believe strongly in his talent and feel he'll be one of the best French defenders of his generation at least.

But the reasons are now clearer as to why he wasn't playing.

He will come back from his time at Nice a better player, & at his prior physical levels - which saw him as one of the best young defenders in France. I mean, the guy managed to pocket the likes of Ben Yedder. Have patience, we didn't invest nearly £30m for no reason. He's gifted.

Arsenal fans have this scary obsession with thinking they know everything and it has to stop, grow up.
