OK, I wanna share this first hand experience with me, with online music parts suppliers from USA.
1. Is a pickup manufacturer. During 2020 I wanted to buy 2 guitar pickups. I ordered one from an Australian retailer & tried to get the other online. NO LUCK. I waited a good 3 mths.
Problem was #COVID19 forcing shutdowns. The state they have their factory in was severely impacted. Non -essential = shut down.
2. I ordered a guitar neck to be made by a Washington State manufacturer. They had resumed production and acknowledge that they advertise delays.
That's fine, I can wait. It was ordered in November, they *say* they are nearing full production but it's now January and still not made.
3. A guitar parts supplier online, USA. Ordered on 3 Jan, already shipped & on it's way.
NOW, I'm not having a sledge at the companies involved but if anyone thinks that the USA economy is handling the stresses and strains of their population getting so sick, they are sorely wrong. Whenever there's a product to be made, I've experienced significant delay.
That could be because the manufacturers are being very careful about their staffing levels and confined space working under #COVID19 fears OR they just have so many people off sick. Again I emphasize I'm NOT having a go at the companies, but it's indicative of how COVID19 strikes
