A thread
1) I've had a little time to reflect on my tweets/takes following the events of January 06. I still stand by everything I've said. I stayed steadfast in condemning violence throughout the last few years, regardless of where it was coming from & where it was targeting.
1) I've had a little time to reflect on my tweets/takes following the events of January 06. I still stand by everything I've said. I stayed steadfast in condemning violence throughout the last few years, regardless of where it was coming from & where it was targeting.
2) A whole lot of tribalistic whataboutism comes into play with these events, & it more than muddies the waters in our discourse about the true problems in America. They are tactics that keep us sharply divided & defending our varying forms of what we believe to be ideal gov't.
3) If you read any of my tweets in the past days thinking I was defending the present iteration of Governmental Power, you are mistaken. I do recognize, and speak often, about the abuses of especially the Federal Government and the accountability that must be had
4) I condemned the event because I felt it was violence in the name of a person, over an election outcome in which lies and dangerous rhetoric have been propagated by The President himself. I felt as though none of their actions were in the defense of Liberty;
5) In unpacking various videos, numerous conspiracy theories, and trying to talk with people (and I mean from all walks, be in on Twitter and even in my own personal acquaintances), I have found more and more division being bred, in the name of Team Sports Politics;
6) I'm here to state I have no team. I have principles. Principles like the Declaration of Independence, in which I believe we are all ordained with natural rights that do not come from any political party or institution. They are firm. They are non-negotiable.
7) And the system of Government we all should be striving for is the one that vows to ensure those rights are protected. That is why I can have respect for the concept of the Constitution, in theory, but you will note in application, this Gov't at least, doesn't really care.
8) The road ahead, no matter what side of the Duopoly aisle you stand on, is rough. Precedents have been set--and they are terrible precedents. I don't want to look at anyone as my mortal enemy, I don't want to cut off dialogues, I don't want increases of violent mobs...
9) These are my principles. Don't hurt people. Don't take their stuff. Don't make the Government your God. Don't empower a Government which you fear if "the other team" is in control. Don't divide yourselves into teams at all. Abolish the teams.
10) Tomorrow is a new day. This weekend starts Season 5 of FritzCast. It's going to be incredibly different, I feel, than any of the previous years.
