I am fed up of seeing @karunanundy defending the most common-sense idea since yesterday and rubbish thrown at her in the name of logic.
So here goes a thread on #cashtransfer to women and its impact.
FYI, finding these on Google takes less time than typing out that dumb opinion
The review covered literature spanning 15 years (2000–2015)
Cash transfers can increase women’s decision-making power and choices, including those on marriage and fertility, and reduce physical abuse by male partners.

Conditional cash transfers empower women beneficiaries but more evidence needed from unconditional cash transfers.
"when women and men were asked to talk about what empowerment means, they equated it to financial standing", women said they were empowered https://blogs.unicef.org/blog/cash-transfers-whats-gender-got-to-do-with-it/
"Not only do CCTs depend on gender divisions for their implementation and functioning, but they also actively reinforce them."
This proposed model addresses the concerns in being unconditional and for homemakers, not solely women homemakers. https://idronline.org/cash-transfers-womens-empowerment/
"women’s economic participation needs to be addressed together with actions to reduce time burdens and to redistribute caring responsibilities in the house-hold – and it is in this sphere that social services can play a pivotal role".....

…….cntd.
Cash transfer to homemakers addresses👆and maintains that because dual responsibilities are hard (like having two jobs), they need to be paid for whichever they chose. Especially when time burden restricts mobility.
1. every programme works within the socio-cultural and institutional context and constraints which needs to be carefully studied
2. positives: more respect from men, increased decision-making power and changes in mobility and identity.

- UCT to households
- Assumption: direct transfer to women ensures intended spending; changes in consumption & investment; ⬆️control on household resources
- Finding: substantial, positive impacts on women’s decision-making power and empowerment

Bottomline
1. CCTs are effective social protection
2. UCTs may be better than CCTs
3. Positive impact on women, need more research though
4. Needs understanding of socio-economic context

Overall, it's a good thing people!
Most importantly, cash transfer to women in this case is considering the household work as tangible contribution to econmomy at micro level and paying for it. What is the problem in that?
