I think it was last saturday or 2 saturdays ago.
A couple with their kids in their black Honda Accord were being harrassed on ikorodu road. Just before the bridge that let’s you either turn off to Maryland or go straight to Ojota.

Their car developed a fault so they had to stop on the road. Apparently it’s a hoodlum spot and these people flooded them sharp sharp. There were like 5 of them. Tobi and i were going to Ojodu and we noticed from a short distance that the man was struggling with one of them

We weren’t too sure, but next thing we know, the lady ran out of the car with the youngest child and started screaming “please help us o” then one of the hoodlums came to direct traffic and was trying to convince people that nothing was going on, so we should keep moving

We were uncomfortable. We immediately stopped by the right side of the 2 lane road. Tobi got down and went to check what was happening and someone else had stopped right behind us too, so there were now 2 cars on the road, apart from the car whose owner was being harrassed

Mehn, if you know Tobi, the fact that he got down would scare you (Plus, he was already shaking his head) I got out of the car and locked it (also partly because i thought one of the hoodlums might come to me in the car and try to be funny)

So i got down, left Tobi with the hoodlums and went to comfort the wife and kids who were extremely terrified inside the car. She held my hand, said “please don’t leave us, they’re trying to exploit us and they’ve been harassing us since”

Ps. The mans mechanic (or someone he had called) had already gotten there to work on the car, but the hoodlums were really giving them both a hard time. Trying to hold the guys hands from touching anything in the hood.

then, someone else decided to stop! Right on the only lane that was moving. Literally parked right there on the road. Seeing as we blocked the other lane with our own car, nobody could go anywhere

Now everyone was affected! So they had to get down and check what the problem was. hoodlums were now super uncomfortable and telling people to move on and that it was under control. Pretending to solve the problem when they were the problem. They were particularly begging...

Meanwhile, the woman with me was still looking a bit terrified . I just told her “nobody will leave this place till you guys go” lmao...felt like FK for a moment

And so we all waited. Caused mad traffic for 5 minutes. mechanic finished up, hoodlums started disappearing one by one, the man came to the drivers door. Said “thank you so much for waiting” and got in the car. Tobi and I waited till their car started and moved.

So did the man that blocked the 1st lane. We thanked him too and then walked fast back to our own car before the hoodlums will come back and try to take it out on us.

Drove a few meters with them just incase, and then had a proud husband and wife moment in the car

So guys, this year, I think we should be more intentional with helping people who are seemingly in danger. Let the Holyspirit guide you. A lot of bad things could have happened to them that day, and it could easily be any of us.

Many people have died or are missing in this country just because nobody stopped. And we know where we are! Sadly, we rarely get closure in this country. Are we not still asking who ordered the 201020 massacre? And are we not still looking for some of our girls?
