The wording of the new policy:
“We collect device and connection-specific information when you install, access, or use our Services. This includes information such as hardware model, operating system information, battery level, signal strength, app version (1)”

It has been long established that WhatsApp is not safe. Eg. when you create a group and share a invite link to the group, a url is created and indexed by Google. This makes you group chat discoverable and available to anyone who wants to join.

Y’all know I am not alarmist about these sort of things. I approach with a cool head, assess, read widely and decide. A reading of the new policy and analysis thereof is chilling.
