A little update on Luqman in KVK. Spoke to him for about an hour with him yesterday. He’s working hard in every training session to be in the first 18 squad in every competitive game. He continued saying that despite being only 18, he is well respected by all the senior players.
I can assure that he's adapting very well with all the senior players. I said he should be proud of himself for having teammates like Trent Sainsbury who is a full Australian International footballer.
It’s only natural for Luqman to develop a different set of mentality by having other International experience players around him. I think the key for Luqman was to step out of his own comfort zone.
I was supposed to be there with him at least for the first month but Covid happened. In a way I’m quite glad I didn't go because it forced himself to adapt quickly with a totally different environment around him.
Of course its not all easy during the first 2 months, he was a bit awkward with all the players but like I said he has a tremendous support system at the club especially his teammates.
He said his English is improving everyday and a little bit of Dutch won't hurt as well. He also mentioned that after 5 years contract at KVK, he wants to continue striving in Europe if possible.
Its still a long way for Luqman but I'm so proud of where he is right now after just a short period of being abroad. Bila aku tanya kau baik dengan siapa dalam dressing room, dia kata dengan semua dia boleh ngam. Siap dah ada gang players yang boleh masuk air dengan dia.
InsyaAllah kalau tak berjaya di KVK pun, he has gained a valuable experience to say the least.
