Trust in government is at a serious low right now, and both sides of the aisle are hoping that "their team" will come and rescue them. But that's putting hope in populism. The establishment killed populism. I don't see how anyone can disagree with this.
Everyone looked away when "their side" did something bad but was ready to pounce when "the other side" did more or less the same thing allowing for the actions of "their side" to get increasingly worse, which justified and emboldened the other side to be more aggressive.
Meanwhile, the government signed a $900B bill, and they gave away almost all of it away to pet projects that would help people on either side -- while everyone kept busy asking the other team demanded their $600.
Journalists, armchair pundits, and media all taking victory laps today, celebrating a victory. What did you win, exactly?
Like, really? This is the most important thing you could be tweeting about right now?

Fuck.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck.
If we continue to divert our attention to this media shitshow in increasing amounts, all of this only gets worse not better.

The only reason they have any power is because we give it to them freely and eagerly. And the more ridiculous shit they write, the more we fall for it.
