Great first day at #SPSA2021! Drawing attention to a few really cool papers from up-and-coming judicial scholars...
Started the day watching #USCPOLI grad student @maddyshanks24 present some early dissertation work on litigants' decisions to appeal district court decisions
Followed that up with another #USCPOLI grad student, @avhassett, who presented coauthored work (with the illustrious Kirk Randazzo) on how education and career paths drive people to judgeships
Sadly had to miss the wonderful @ChristineCBird presenting coauthored work on The Federalist Society, but look out for this one, she is ON THE MARKET NEXT YEAR, people!
But, got to watch my coauthor, the twitterless Nick Waterbury, present a paper on senatorial norms and home-state circuit seats, which he wrote with @Jktboston and Jim Spriggs!
As chair-extraordinare @TheCLBoyd said this morning, the future is bright in judicial!
