There is a notion in Remain circles that everyone had access to all the facts of Brexit, weighed them up, THEN decided to ignore them.

Reality's more prosaic: the massive Brexit bias in the media ensured millions were ill-informed. But they also didn't know they didn't know!

This isn't about stupidity or lack of education. It's about being in an information bubble without realising it.

Happens all the time on Twitter and Facebook: social networks surface material by *people who think like you*. Why? Because that's most likely to sustain discussions.

When you have the Express, Sun, Daily Mail etc. all amplifying the lies of prominent Brexiters, and the "neutral" media creating false balance by giving equal voice to both sides, that's a recipe for disinformation on a mass scale. As indeed was the case during the referendum.

Rage at those who conned the Leavers. Burn with anger at those who continue to spread Brexit lies for their own gain. Give no quarter to the racists and xenophobes.

But if someone's only sin was to tick "Leave" 4.5 years ago then get on with their lives, be *a bit* less harsh.

I will NEVER forgive the politicians who brought us Brexit, or the politicians who stood by & through apathy or ineptitude allowed the destruction to occur.

I will continue to do everything I can to hold them to account.

But I will not tarnish every Leaver with the same brush.

You may be itching to push back on this. And that's ok.

But first, ask yourself why? Why are you so sure the entire Leave contingent deserve censure, all 17.4 million of them?

The answer's simple: because YOU understand Brexit.

But then think about why that should be.

Why do you understand the ins and outs of Brexit, its consequences and impacts, when it's plain as day that millions of people in this country do not?

Could it be (if you're brutally honest with yourself) because your own "information bubble" favoured that knowledge?

There.

NOTE: I'm not giving a free pass to the racists & hate-mongers. Nothing could be further from the truth!

All racists are Leavers. But not all Leavers are racist.

We are exposed to the filthy tip of a not-that-dirty iceberg on Twitter.

Don't judge the whole iceberg by its tip.
