NBC please hire me to run your comedy department cause.... where are your comedies??!
If I ran the NBC comedy department I’d:
- give Tracey Wigfield and Mike Scur blank checks
- hire anyone who wrote for Ghosted, Great News, and Making History
- put 30 Rock merch back in the NBC store
- reboot Up All Night as a multicam like NBC didn’t have the BALLS to do in 2012
(Ok, the Up All Night one is only KIND OF a joke)
Seriously I would never green light a multicam, not even if it were John Mulaney himself giving the format a second go
I’m also absolutely going to reboot Single Parents, I don’t care how much Disney wants for it
This goes without saying but Scott Aukerman is getting a show on NBC whether he wants it or not
Oh, I’m also going to make the NBC store make me the Community sweatpants that they never replaced for me.

The imaginary power is going to my head

I’m bringing Detroiters back. It’s Broadway Video anyways so Lorne will let me have it
I see you asking yourself “but Emily, there’s not enough time on NBC’s schedule for all you want to do!”

Easy - The Voice is cancelled. I don’t even have the power to do that as imaginary head of the comedy department but imaginary me is making CALLS
Anyways the whole thing that happened at the Capitol broke me and I’m spiraling ✨🥰
This got buried in some replies but here is the late night schedule:

- Seth Meyers moves up to the Tonight Show slot. Format doesn’t change at ALL and he promises not to sell out
- Amber Ruffin takes over Late Night. No changes from her current peacock show
(1/2)
- Aukerman and TLI get the really late night slot and they’re allowed to do whatever the hell they want. They also get a primetime sitcom or four
Kulap gets to show-run whatever she wants. I’m thinking she’d be in charge of specialty content (ex: her killer work with A Legendary Xmas Special) but it’s up to her
Speaking of Aukerman and Kulap, all that Seeso content is coming to Peacock because why hasn’t it yet?
Finally, a process note: no comedy will be cancelled before its first season (bare minimum 13 episode order).

If the network wants to cancel, it needs to submit its reasoning to me and a small cancellation committee. “Poor ratings” is not a valid reason for a s1 cancellation
almost forgot! Mindy Kaling and Josie Totah get to do another show again. Josie is #1 on that call sheet
I know this was never on a major network, nor was it a sitcom, but psych/Steve Franks can make additional psych content with unlimited budget and will get airtime on NBC
Mulaney, Simon Rich, and Marika Sawyer are all also entitled to their own, separate blank checks
I’m green lighting Ben Schwartz’s “The Earliest Show” to air right after the Hoda/Jenna hour of The Today Show
NBC Affiliates will no longer be permitted to air Ellen’s show

NBC doesn’t own it so I can’t cancel it (like, to be frank, it should’ve been 10 years ago), but if markets still want it, it’s gonna have to be on a FOX, ABC or CBS affiliate
