i wonder if the capitol has security cameras.
i wonder what's on those recordings.

i wonder if the capitol has decent enterprise grade wifi.
I wonder what's in those logs.
i wonder if that data contains beacons from mobile devices.

i wonder what would happen if someone were to take those becons, pull the wifi mac addresses, and search http://wigle.net  for each and every one.
i wonder if the resulting points on the map would be the homes, workplaces and evening-spots of the devices.
i wonder why there is a massive televised manhunt for the terrorists if there is a chance that this data is trivially accessible by anyone who's day to day job it is to maintain that infrastructure
i wonder how many screenwriters are hanging upside down from the ceiling in unbridled joy because the next 50 spy movies just wrote themselves
and i hope my friends who are either still in the ic or are ex-ic are coping well enough

if I'm losing my shit over this, i cant imagine how the people who do this as a profession and actually have a stake in things are feeling

dm me if you want a distraction. I'm good at those
of course, this is all predecated upon:
- it/security folks at the capitol taking it seriously
- that there are cameras and that there is wifi
- that these things log
- that they capture beacons
- that there is some competency there
there is not a better "if you just do the basics, they will ultimately save you" example that I can reference
