The Ravens have gotten away with running one of the most predictable offenses in the NFL. Maybe because of personnel, success, no pre season or just stubbornness. The NFL got to watch an offense led by an absolutely elite athlete do something it hadn't seen before to this scale

They had a lot of personnel changes with Yanda retiring and Hurst moving on for disappointing pastures (more on him another time) the line just wasn't the same. The TE room and the WR just not the same. With multiple rookies and a shifted OL with NO pre season and injuries...

Started to mount but between covid and injuries and some just outright bad weather of all the problems and blame that could be had...it is Greg Roman I Place the most blame but as the season went on there was hope. Creativity and growth (Including trust) started to trend up..

Here are 3 plays that I hope demonstrate this from Week 17 of the 2020 season. Play number 1 comes from a very underutilized player this offseason and it is from Duvernay a player they drafted to help add even more speed but yet hadn't been given the chance to as often.

This play comes on 3rd and 1, the first thing to notice is that in this set there are 2 TE 1 RB and 2 WR or 12 personnel. They ran out of this exact formation only 11% of the time on the year and less than 1% of this was from under center like they are here, already different.

Not only is this a unusual look for Bal but running this reverse out of anything than the Pistol is not only well timed but very successful and something you should see help set up and develop the run AND pass games. Lamar hold the LBs and frees up an easy 10 plus yard gain.

Here is one of my favorite plays of the week. Something you see from the top passers in the game and a well oiled offense. Notice how far off the DB at the top is form Brown, that is way too far what Jackson does next is something he has not been doing often enough

He abandons the run and throws to Brown for an easy 6 or 7 yards on 1st down and with this offense a short 2nd down is deadly to any defense. Thus is what a "normal offense" does to attack off coverage to this level. When it goes right it is effective but when it goes wrong

Same situation but this time it is a called RPO (Run Pass Option) not something the Ravens do often enough. But why did this not work well at first glance it looks like Lamar just short arms the ball BUT. Thanks to my super secret technology...it is easy to see LJAX throws it..

EXACTLY where Brown was supposed to be but Brown takes a step and a half back and it throws the rhythm and throw off. These are the things that come with inexperience and time together. But also shows how little these things are worked on. And that is the problem,
An offense that struggles to execute the basics will most definitely show up in the box scores and it makes it easy to cast aside LJAX as a struggling QB and a sell high but it isn't just him. And at the same time a deeper look shows hope and growth. LJAX needs to develop

So does the coaching staff and the players around him, these are not the only reasons for optimism and I can not wait to show you more of the offense developing and truly solidifying LJAX as a serious buy candidate. His passing will develop and that will be scary for defenses.
Thanks for reading and for all the retweets and likes even comments to come. I have so much to release and will continue to build on it as we go. Much love stay safe and enjoy the first round of playoffs.
