Delighted to hear from UCC's MSW Course Director today about the least initiative launched by @tusla - the NTRIS Employment Support Scheme specifically in place to support members of the Roma or Traveller communities study Social Work or Social Care.
The Tusla Scheme has been established for students from the Traveller and Roma communities and aims to provide continual support from studying to members of these communities to gaining employment in Social Work and Social Care.
The @tusla Scheme complements and is consistent with the vision, objectives and goals of the National Plan for Equity of Access to Higher Education. The Tusla Scheme applies to academic courses which meet the requirement for employment in social work and social care with Tusla.
Successful applicants of The Tusla Scheme will be required to complete paid 6-week supervised work placements during the summer of their academic course and are offered a 3-year employment contract with Tusla subject to successful graduation.
