I'm over in the fan forum using my not-so-covert-no-friends FB account, so if anything new comes up I'll get my fingers going here on Twitter. https://twitter.com/SyracuseCrunch/status/1347318136568164355
Dolgon confirms a 32 game schedule, 16 home, 16 away. Matrix will be finialed tomorrow.

Utica, Rochester, and WBS should be the only opponents the Crunch will play out of Syracuse's new AHL North Division. This will make for easy road trips within 2.5 hours.
Tampa's priority with the taxi squad is to avoid the COVID protocols that will be needed for a call up to play. They will carry 4-6 extras, players that "are ready to play in the NHL." The taxi squad necessitated the dual affiliation with Florida to fill out the roster.
Local game broadcasts may return to the Syracuse area this season. Negotiations are on-going. The Crunch hasn't had that recently, this would be really nice for fans.
Crunch is offering a complimentary AHL TV package to all season ticket holders, both current and new (up until January 26th for new STH). The package will be for all 32 games. All current season ticket package payments will roll over.

This is a fantastic gesture by the team.
Tampa was an "easy" negotiating partner. Development is, as it always is, their main concern. Dolgon feels the addition of Florida's top prospects should make for a competitive team.
The AHL regular season is expected to end on May 15th. There is no expectation "as far as the Crunch is concerned" to have a competition for the Calder Cup. Air travel makes it much too complicated and dangerous.
A strict testing protocol will be in place for coaches, players, and staff this season (as expected). The protocol for players' families will be addressed soon, according to a comment from the team.
Dolgon is asked about getting Cameron Gaunce signed. He mentions that this is a tough season for veterans, as many have said. Budgets are extreamly tight. Dolgon "would be surprised" if veterans find any jobs in the league right now.
Dolgon is feeling "comfortable" with where everything is with planning on a regular season in 21-22. He's looking forward to the planning the team will be doing come spring.
Season ticket holders will get those promised merch vouchers from the truncated 19-20 season in 21-22.
Players contracted with Florida may potentially have a patch somewhere on their jersey connecting them to their actual organization. Team is looking into merch featuring both teams.

I think this is a great idea.
"I think it's a good thing you're going to have players pushing each other for ice time. The better players are going to play. Players are going to be challenged."

Dolgon also mentions junior players maybe getting the chance to practice, play, and train with the team/coaches.
The coaching staff will make a decision on a captain for this season. If Witkowski is still with the team, Dolgon suspects he will continue as captain.
Dolgon feels the Comets/Crunch outdoor game is "definitely off" at this point. It isn't on the schedule.

(I had totally forgotten this was supposed to be a thing)
Crunch is planning more Zoom/Facebook team get-togethers to help fans connect with the players in lieu of no Welcome Back to Town event and other live things that fans can't attend right now.
Dolgon thanks season ticket holders for their commitment, support, and generosity. Discusses how much they're missing seeing and speaking to the fans at the War Memorial.
Team asked the league not to have back-to-back games. Averages 2-3 games a week.

With the assumption that games will probably need to be postponed or rescheduled because of COVID, this makes sense.
"You never know who is going to impress (at the start of the NHL season)...to anticipate who is going to be down (in Syracuse from last season), I don't want to guess."

Basically who gets sent to the A will be a complete surprise 😅.
