The signing of Ronny Maza by @ValourFootball is interesting. Of all the new to @CPLsoccer attackers for 2021, he's got some of the most impressive attacking stats (I might have missed a player as I'm not keeping up with the announcements)

The @CPLsoccer story about the signing suggests he has 5554 minutes of top-flight football. I'm only seeing 4419' in transfermarkt, but its not unusual for the site to be incomplete. So the accuracy of these numbers is arguable
I'm going to go with the 4419', in which he has 14G and 4A recorded. That's a goal scoring pace of 0.285G per 90' played. Another way to look at it is a goal every 3.51 games. In a 28 game season (which 2019 was), that's 7.98G (call it 8G) scored in a season
Now...that's using Maza's career averages. He really picked up the pace in the 2019 Torneo Clausura with Trujillanos. In that season he potted 8G in 18 games and 1410' played. That's 0.511G per 90' played, about double his career average.
If Maza can keep that pace up he'd be in for 14.29G over a 28 game season. That would have made him 2019's golden boot winner (Borges put in 13).
Another nice thing to see about Maza is that he plays. In the 2019 Clausura he was in the lineup for 18 of 19 matches that Trujilanos played. He played a full 90' in 11 of those 18 matches and it looks like he was a starter in all but one of those matches.
Another interesting little thing in that Clausura is that Maza had a run of three games (matches 11, 12 and 13) where he scored 6 goals; a brace to lead his team to a 1:2 away victory, a single in a 1:2 home loss, and a hat trick in a 2:3 away victory.
Maza also played a good number of minutes in the 2019 Apertura. The first part of the season he was in the squad for only 5 of the first 11 matches. Starting in match week 12 he claimed his spot as a starter for 8 straight matches; one where he played 80' and 7 at 90'
So Maza can play minutes, he might be able to score goals (1 good season). He doesn't get disciplined (4 yellows in 30 runouts for 2019).

I like the promise in these numbers more than other attackers I've seen signed in the league for 2021 thus far.
And that's good for @ValourFootball because they need consistency and productivity in attack.

I'd watch Ronny Maza so that he doesn't surprise you. He might just be good.
