how to talk to your children about what’s going on in the us: a thread
there are people who don’t agree with the results of the presidential election, and it’s okay not to agree with those results. it’s okay to be angry. what’s not okay is to take your anger out on other people, especially when you’re taking it out on the people who support you
many of these angry outbursts are said to be because of political disagreements but there’s nothing political about facts and there’s nothing political about strongly hating people for the color of their skin, something they cannot change.
you have the option to do research on what’s going on and learn the facts, but the most important thing to know is that you should attempt to remove hate and malice from your heart. you were not born hating people, you were born to love.
be honest, be loyal, be trustworthy, be smart, be brave. stand up for what you believe in without a single ounce of hatred in your heart. love strongly, love your neighbors as you would love yourself. learn from your mistakes and the mistakes of others.
be the best version of yourself you can be. the world needs the best version of you.
