This is a thread to spread awareness about how a university hired a 3rd party software and has now brought the PRIVACY of FEMALE students at RISK. Proctors are hired with NO background CHECKS. #privacy breached
Case 1: it all started when this case was circulating through various college groups. A proctor is an online invigilator for exams. You CANT see this unknown person but they can see you and your room. They can also ask for 360° view of your room. A Proctor can turn #STALKER.
THIS IS HOW THIS COMPANY WAS HIRING PEOPLE WHO CAN LOOK INTO YOUR ROOMS FOR HOURS STRAIGHT:
The selection process is very easy with Google forms, thus creeps easily get in. They get access to our college ID cards and thus can trace our PHONE NUMBERS. and so starts the harrasment.

Case 2: Proctors are supposed to use this chat option to warn us to not cheat. Instead they using it to force female students to give their Instagram accounts. When this girl said no he still kept on insisting making bullshit excuses like it's his last day? @/nmims_india #mumbai
Case 3: this creep used different numbers to call my classmates but trucaller traced the same person, as proven in his picture. His name is Amit. Note his number in case he randomly calls you in the middle.of the night like the pervert he is. #mumbainews

Oh also, fun fact, some students use Aadhar cards instead of student id cards. These creeps not only have access to phone numbers but also addresses now.

NONE of the privacy rights were protected by METTL. infact they clearly say on their website they can do whatever they want with our privacy information. But they'll protect our rights. Which clearly happened as we have more than 6 cases now. #mumbainews #mumbai
My friend who got harrassed is getting this RN! ANYONE WHO HAS GIVEN AN EXAM ON METTL KNOWS that this is NOT how a proctor sends a warning message. It is send ONCE. it's probably the creep who has been calling her. She's paused her exam out of fear. @fayedsouza #NMIMS #mumbainews
NEVERENDING: Why would a proctor need a girls email? Over 10 and counting cases. #NMIMS sent a mail that they have taken police action against ONE Proctor. And a VAGUE statement that they'll "mostly" keep women proctors w"herever possible".

Authorities made it clear, give exams even if you don't know who's watching you. Action will be taken if anyone harrassed you. They will basically wait for something bad to happen then do something. I'll give 2 exams tomorrow and don't even have permission to cover my camera

Have lost all hope of any preventive measures from authorities. I personally know people who've had anxiety attacks before and after and during exams. But that doesn't matter. Action will only be taken after you're harrassed. Disappointed, but not surprised.
