There have been great threads going around about memes with antisemitic origins and n4zi dogwhistles, so I thought as a very fed up Jew I'd make one on another important topic: antisemitic language unknowingly employed by people on the left. Thread:

Lizard people:
I think/hope this one is pretty well-known at this point but to summarize, "lizard people disguised as humans secretly run the world" is an antisemitic conspiracy theory. Jokes about politicians/etc secretly being lizard people need to stop.

Illuminati:
Yes, I know, it seems like another funny thing to joke about, but it's another variation of the "shadowy group running the world" antisemitic trope. The historical Illuminati was not a Jewish organization, but the modern conspiracy theory is just "Jews run the world".

Cabal:
The word "cabal" is often used to refer to a sinister, secretive organization trying to do damage to society. It's derived from "Kabbalah", Jewish mysticism. This is yet another "shadowy Jewish organization running the world" term.

I'll add to this thread as I think of more, please feel free to share and make suggestions of other things to add! Especially as people are so enthusiastic about "punching n4zis" it's really hurtful as a Jewish person to see those same people perpetuate antisemitic rhetoric.
