I get that you’re all thinking about the 25th Amendment, but in reality, it’s not going to happen if Pence — whose support is required — is not leading them toward unanimity. It must be presented in a way that will convince Trump he has no other option.

In that sense, Chao’s move could be an attempt to create that reality. I don’t know. Knowing Washington and the modern Republican Party, probably not. But I don’t know, and she’s saying that she’s in office until Monday, regardless.

I think there are a lot of moving parts, and, IMHO, people weakening Trump’s standing and position right now are doing a good thing. I probably won’t agree with the ways some do it, but weakening Trump right now — and making sure he knows it — is of paramount importance.
