This grave crisis is overlooked. After being lied to for months, many millions of people *do believe* the election was stolen from Trump. Yesterday, a majority of GOP representatives voted to overturn it. Try to sanction the liars, and we'll be told "what about their supporters?"
I don't think people have come to terms with what is happening. I can't believe the Senate and the House just went home. Even after all the mayhem yesterday, majority of GOP representatives *still* tried to throw out the election without even pretending to have a basis for it.
What wake-up call do folks need? Are we going to argue that our institutions are resilient until they do succeed in throwing out elections? They walked into a building riddled with bullet holes where people had died trying to storm it and voted to overthrow the election anyway.
This isn't a partisan problem. The crisis the United States faces is far beyond ideal tax rates & different budget priorities. There is a bloc with growing power at every level that has decided elections can be optional if they lose—and they aren't going to go away by themselves.
