"Democrats stole the election! That's why they forced him out of office!" That's going to be the Discourse for the next four years, while Republicans nurture an even stronger partisan white supremacist backlash that will now be fully mainstreamed. JUST WAIT 10 BUSINESS DAYS.

Just send the terrorists to jail and try Trump for treason after he's out of office. Why are our politicians so bad at ANY politics that require even a little foresight? These lazy pols didn't remove him for killing people for four yrs but w/14 days left they find their courage?

Impeachment/removal will be an enormous gift to Republicans and the Republican fundraising machines. Republicans don't see ANY problem with the Capitol terrorism. Removal will intensify their partisan hatred and strengthen their hand for the next election cycle.

One thing the US government NEVER understands is the power of coming at enemies so hard that it turns them into martyrs whose icons will be forever enshrined. Removing Trump will turn him into a hero, a brave victim of Democratic hatred. It will NOT be accountability.

Imagine Dems talking about accountability for Trump after coddling him for four years!

Of COURSE a Republican is endorsing his removal. Then their hero Trump goes out in martyred glory, a victim of power-hungry Democrats, rather than disgraced shame for being a one-term president.

Let me break this down, because apparently Democrats are, as usual, writing checks they can't cash.

25th Amendment and impeachment before Jan 20 both put Pence in charge as president. That gives him the power to pardon Trump, meaning Trump can run again. So both are game over.

2) Impeachment Theater (drawing up the articles and doing nothing) only hurts Democrats. They impeached and failed once. That's misfortune. To impeach and fail TWICE is carelessness. It also makes Democrats look weak when they need to be strong, going into a Dem administration.
