I see many Canadians decrying the “attack on democracy” in the US yesterday, but where was the public outrage when our own PM tried to get away with unlimited taxing and spending powers, or when he replaced Parliament with a committee where only specific questions were allowed?
Challenging, debating and voting on election results when millions of Americans have concerns about electoral processes and transparency is not unreasonable, nor is it undemocratic.
A few violent protestors do not typify America or signify its democratic downfall.
It is more concerning to me when we see attacks on democracy and freedom, and there is little to no protest (peaceful) or public outrage, as we witnessed time and again last year in Canada. #cdnpoli
