There are important lessons to be learned from the policing that did & didn’t happen yesterday.

So the hypocrisy being discussed is important.

But don’t let anyone reduce this to:
“those folks should have been policed better” and this would all be fine.

That ain’t it.
By design, the idea of police steers our thinking away from from deeper causes of harm by appearing to offer fast (violent) management of deeper crises and problems.
What we need to continue to do is stop pretending this is a real democracy, with a bad four years and instead ask what were the conditions that led to the rise of this movement?

And...
What do we need to learn and do NOW to address those conditions BEFORE we get to armed white folks in capitol with Qanon deer suit phase of things.
