The first picture filled me with rage when I saw it yesterday. It’s the face of every bully I ever encountered in grade school. It’s the face of every high school boy who thought he had the right to touch me or any of my female friends, or comment on our bodies, 1/4
or spread rumors about us, with impunity. It’s the face of every man I encountered in the music business who groped, harassed or dismissed every female artist in his path. Yesterday was an avalanche of trauma for millions of people who have looked men like this in the 2/4
eye and felt powerless and knew that no one was looking out for them. I believe in forgiveness but I also believe in accountability. If these people are not held accountable we will know exactly what kind of country we live in. And we will have 3/4
to come to grips with the fact that only we can change that.
