We need to be extremely careful/purposeful about the way we discuss the people we oppose. Are we actually mad at trump supporters for storming the capitol? Do we actually believe that building is sacred? Do we believe the government that building serves is good? 1/ #DC https://twitter.com/generalslug/status/1347195562630782976
For the record, I don’t give a damn about that building. I’m pro-storm-the-capitol. I think the US gov is dogshit. My issue with what happened is that trump supporters don’t want to redistribute the power of that gov — they want to usurp it and entrench it in Trump himself. 2/
All the talk about terrorism, sedition, treason, etc., promotes and empowers rhetoric that can and WILL be used against people fighting state oppression. It’s easy it to use these terms but think about the power structure youre upholding when you do. 3/
