What’s been on my mind constantly for a while is that what we do now, in the next week, the next 6 months, the next year and beyond is crucially important. As people smarter than me have noted - the peril to our democracy doesn’t end on January 20th.

We have to do deal decisively NOW, and continue to deal decisively and strategically in the coming years, not just with Donald Trump and his family but with the Republican Party. There is something fundamentally broken in the Republican Party and we have to deal with that.
We cannot just “turn the page.” We, our democracy, are in peril now. No more “where does this go?” questions-we know where it goes. It goes here, a place where the US had a coup attempt directed by an outgoing President, enabled by a national political party.
