I... don't think Marvel needs to put Punisher on the shelf.

I think he needs a definitive new comic that explores the nuances of PTSD but is very direct in how it distances him from law enforcement members who see him as an inspiration rather than a "cautionary tale".
There is absolutely no point in making Daredevil judge him and tell him he's wrong when Marvel makes an absolute point of putting Frank looking good while he shoots other people for his personal vendetta.

That's shallow and it only compliments this attitude.
Literally every time Marvel puts Frank Vs Matt in a moral dilemma we're always tempted to follow Frank and act like he's right and that brutality is the only solution that a white man can make when he lives in a society.
The problem with Frank is not the character itself is that more than often creators become seduced with his aesthetic and some of his ideals rather than make a comic that doesn't like like the protagonist is the only one with reason.

This is Marvel's fault.
