Kumar Sangakkara made his international debut at the age of 22 in a test against South Africa on 20 July 2000 in his team's only innings he scored 23 before he was adjudged LBW by the umpire. (Sri Lanka won that match by an innings and 15 runs).
What followed after is history. He kept on breaking records and made many different records in the process becoming One the Greatest Batsman of All-time.
Sangakkara played 134 tests , 404 ODIs and 56 T20Is for Sri Lanka in which he scored 12400 runs in tests @ 57.41 , 14234 runs in ODIs @ 42.0 and 1382 runs in T20Is @ 31.41 (in total 28,016 international runs).
In his ODI career Sangakkara scored a total of 14,234 ODI runs in 404 matches at an Average of 41.98 the 2nd most overall and the most by a Sri Lankan player . In ODIs Sangakkara scored 93 5⃣0⃣+ scores & 25 💯s with his highest score being 169 .
Sangakkara is the First batsman to score four consecutive hundreds – centuries against Bangladesh (105*), England (117*), Australia (104) and Scotland (124) in the 2015 ICC World Cup.
Sangakkara was the First Sri Lankan to pass 14,000 ODI runs.
Sangakkara scored 1000 runs in a single calendar year 6 times (only few players have scored 1000 runs in a single calendar year more than 5 times).
He is also one of those players who have scored a century and made 4 Dissmisals in the same match. His tally of 25 hundreds is the joint 7th most overall (along with Abd and Gayle) & 2nd most by a Sri Lankan player.
Sangakkara also holds the Sri Lankan record for Wicketkeeper with most Dissmisals in a single calendar year (49 Dissmisals in the year 2006). He is the only Wicketkeeper to make 3 stumping in an innings two times in his career (2000 & 2005) .
His tally of 93 5⃣0⃣+ scores is the 2nd most overall and most by a Sri Lankan player. Sangakkara and Malinga are the 8th most successful wicketkeeper bowler combination in ODIs with 45 Dissmisals.
Sangakkara hit 1378 fours in his ODI career the 3rd most overall and 2nd most by a Sri Lankan player. Sangakkara top scored for his team 82 times (only two players have done it more times) .
Sangakkara was the first Sri Lankan and 4th overall batsman to reach hundred in his 100th ODI appearance. Sangakkara won 30 MOTM awards for his brilliant batting performances !!!
Sangakkara averaged 40+ both home and away.
As a wicketkeeper Sangakkara took 383 catches and made 99 stumpings ( in total 482 Dissmisals which is the most by an wicketkeeper in ODIs)

In his T20I scored 8 5⃣0⃣+ scores but never managed to record a century in his career with his highest score being 78 . Kumar Sangakkara's history partnership of 166 with Mahela Jayawardene for the 2nd wicket is the 2nd highest and the highest 2nd wicket partnership ~
in ICC World T20I history. He was the first batsman to score half centuries in 2 different ICC T20 World Cup finals [in 2009 and (MOTM) in 2014(Sri Lanka won) ] . Sangakkara won 3 MOTM awards in the format.
As a wicketkeeper he claimed 25 catches and made 20 stumpings
(in total 45 Dissmisals) He also was part of the ICC World T20I winning squad.
T20I Captaincy
Under his Captaincy Sri Lanka played 22 matches won 13 matches and lost 9 matches. As a captain he scored 652 runs @ 34.32
In his Test career Sangakkara scored a total of 12,400 runs in 134 matches at an Average of 57.40 the sixth most overall. In tests Sangakkara scored 52 5⃣0⃣+ scores ( 9th most) , 38 💯s ( 4th most) , 11 double centuries ( 2nd most after Sir Don Bradman, 12) ~
& 1 triple century with his highest score being 319 . Sangakkara only the second player in test history to score a triple century and century in same match ( first was Graham Gooch) (319 & 105 vs Bangladesh in 2014) . Sangakkara is one of the few players to score a hundred in ~
both innings of a test match two times in his carrer . Kumar Sangakkara is one of those players who have scored 1000 runs in a single calendar year 5 times.
( Minimum 5,000 tests runs) Sangakkara average of 57.40 is the highest by an Sri Lankan Player and the 6th highest overall after Don Bradman, Steve Smith, Ken Barrington, Wally Hammond and Garfield Sobers.
Kumar Sangakkara's partnership of 624 runs for the 3rd wicket with Mahela Jayawardene is the highest partnership for any wicket in test (infact they are the only pair to put on 600+ runs partnership in test cricket history) .

• Sangakkara scored 2868 runs in the year 2014. (1493 Tests ,runs 1256 ODIs runs and 119 T20Is runs ) the most runs in cricket in all formats of the game in a calendar year.
• Sangakkara scored a total of 28,016 international runs the second most after Sachin Tendulkar.
• Sangakkara is fourth in the list of most dismissals as wicketkeeper across all formats (678 Dissmisals) .
• Sangakkara claimed 54 Dissmisals in 37 matches ( Most Dissmisals as a Wicketkeeper in World Cups). He was also the second wicketkeeper after Adam Gilchrist to effect in 50+ dismissals in World Cups.
• Sangakkara holds the record for the fastest century by a Sri Lankan player in World Cups - Sangakkara scored his 23rd ODI century from 70 balls against England on 1 March 2015.
