Overall I like this article. The core of the article argues that left-wing ideas & actions promote more dispersed & equitable distributions of power & right-wing ideas promote more concentrated & unequal power. His mistake is then placing anarchism on the right. https://twitter.com/DGilesPhd/status/1346217921702473730
Second, I want to note that in terms of the normative goals of libertarianism & anarchism, many forms are explicitly left-wing in the sense Giles discusses. Roderick Long, for instance, discusses libertarianism & anarchism as efforts to promote "equality of authority."
Third, I want to note that there are strong practical, social scientific reasons to think that state power lends itself to exacerbating concentrations of power, even when it is nominally intended to challenge concentrated economic power. Regulatory capture is relevant here.
Fourth, I want to note that anarchists in practice engage in a wide range of substantively leftist projects to disperse power, challenge concentrations of public & private power, and help the most marginalized people assert their autonomy.
This includes hacktivism, whistleblowing, mutual aid, wildcat labor activism, cop watching, feminist consciousness raising, & much more.
