A lot of people are wondering why I’ve contradicted myself and decided to transition Jumping Jack Taxes from a licensing company to a franchise.

Let me be completely honest...
1. I was very ignorant to the franchise industry

When we launched our licensing program in late 2017 where we allowed people to open virtual tax offices with us, I didn’t know enough about the benefits of franchising. I thought it was this scary process where...
Only big companies like McDonald’s and Chic-Fil-A franchise and I didn’t think I was prepared to offer that kind of opportunity. Which I’m glad I didn’t at the time because there was a lot to learn about the tax industry itself and how we planned to penetrate the market. Next...
2. It costs A LOT of money to franchise a company

The process to franchise a company can cost $50,000+ dollars in legal and operational fees. Jumping Jack Tax didn’t have that kind of cash at the time to even think about franchising. So licensing became an affordable..
Option to still offer opportunity to our community to open virtual tax offices. Which brings me to...

3. Licensing has a lower cost of entry than franchising does

If we started off as a franchise opposed to a licensing company, probably about 80% of our current licensees...

It came with drawbacks. By offering licensing instead of franchising and keeping the cost “too affordable” ... it allowed certain people to enter our company, use our brand name in ways I certainly do not agree with and treat and not give our clients the very best experience...
Now with franchising, it creates a system that all of our franchise operators must follow so the experience is consistent. Plus, it helps our franchise operators because they can now fully use the Jumping Jack Tax brand name for marketing purposes without much restriction..
And our franchise operators have a form of ownership with owning a Jumping Jack Tax virtual franchise. We needed to create a tighter system for long term success so I executed in a way I thought was best for all parties involved. To protect us as a franchisor and..
To create ownership & scalability for the franchisee. Yes, it costs a bit more to join & the legal process is a bit advanced but I will no longer put the brand name in jeopardy by allowing “inspired folk” to join. This black owned franchise is here to stay. Show me you’re serious
