With a little over a week before @NEH_ODH Advancement grants applications are due, I want to offer 4 major tips to first-time applicants:

1. Emphasize the humanistic questions your project addresses - avoid tech & tool heavy narratives
2. Connect your project to a pressing issue or problem - demonstrate how humanists are uniquely suited to addressing issues and challenges that impact people's everyday lives
3. Describe a specific audience/stakeholders that your project engages - who are you speaking to and why...how will you meet their needs?
4. Demonstrate sustainability - articulate the project's social infrastructure and capacity to evolve with technological, team, and administrative changes.

Good luck to all!
One more thing...winning applications are able to strike a delicate balance between a firm grasp & understanding of digital tools & technologies with a deep engagement of humanistic ideas and principles
