For those asking, it's a Holocaust reference. I've also seen photos of "Camp Auschwitz" sweatshirts & various Nazi symbolism in the crowd. Q Anon and other conspiracy theories related to the election are laced with anti-semitic rhetoric and dog whistles. https://twitter.com/MikeCosper/status/1347165955777060864
Two big ones: references to Soros and globalists. Soros is a reference to high finance, and globalists to a secret cabal controlling world politics. Both refer to old tropes about Jews secretly controlling money and politics, tropes that go back for hundreds of years.
For that matter, so do Q Anon's accusations of pedophilia and blood cults. These go back to the middle ages. Just look up the term "blood libel." It matters because it speaks to the deep, historical paranoia of the movement.
And before you accuse me of nutpicking, note that Mike Flynn has taken the "Q Pledge" on social media, we have QAnon supporters in congress (Greene and Boebert) and many rioters seen in the chambers yesterday are notorious Q Anon celebrities.
This isn't the fringe of the movement, it's the heart of it. Not everyone ascribes to the worst of it, but it's because they're not fully bought in – not the other way around. But be sure: No Q Anon movement, no riot yesterday.
