If the GOP controlled both houses of congress they would have overthrown the duly elected government and overturned the election yesterday.

There will be a moment when the GOP controls both houses of congress during a presidential election.

Potentially as soon as 2024. It's easy to imagine both houses flipping. And then what?

My best plan is to come down as hard as possible on the insurrectionists - both the rioters and the elected officials - as possible right now, followed by passing voting rights measures and expanding the courts to make sure the laws hold up. I don't know if it's a good plan.

And I don't believe that Democrats will govern like the nation is on the brink of collapse. But we'll have the opportunity and should start protecting the 2024 election as of January 21, 2021.
