So...we learn things in *different* ways. Sometimes we learn by studying, sometimes we learn-by-doing and sometimes we learn because the circumstances around us dictate that we learn and try doing it a "new way".

Our country routinely spends upwards of $150 million (continued)
on the Presidential inauguration. As businesses and families across the country suffer in the wake of the virus, there's an inauguration scheduled for January 21 that would run AT LEAST $175 million (projected) and possibly $25 million additionally due to planned (continued)
additional security measures in the wake of unrest from the group supporting the outgoing President.

Don't get me wrong, "celebrating" a new President isn't a bad idea. We've been doing it in this country for as long as we've had a President.

What IS wrong is (continued)
spending $175 or $200 million to celebrate a new President.

In the wake of yesterday's events, there's already discussion about whether it's prudent to have a public, celebratory inauguration on January 21.

Actually, WHAT WE'VE LEARNED, perhaps by the nature of (continued)
unintended consequences is that we should be much smarter, as a nation, than to spend $175 or $200 million on something that REALLY DOESN'T CHANGE ANYTHING ABOUT COUNTRY OR ITS CITIZENS.

Give that $175 million to businesses or families, let the incoming President (continued)
have a glitzy, private televised ceremony, and let's move on and start being smart enough to not spend $175 million on something we don't need in the least.

A better theme than "Make America Great Again" would be "Let's Be Smart Again".

Rant over.
