To cosign @HoodCommunist and dispel bullshit about “leftists not wanting freedom bad enough”, one group is criminalized outright, even argued as inherently nefarious.
Their laws and responses to the violations of said laws are racist as fuck. So let’s cut the fucking bullshit with reactionary ass “why didn’t we do that?” ass takes.
Black people were being tear gassed at vigils. And you are seriously saying “they didn’t want it bad enough”. What the colonization is that shit?
Whatever your final observation of this shit show may be, if you ARE NOT commenting on how organized they were, you are missing the most crucial aspect of it.
They PLANNED this action. And while nothing they did was righteous or even in the name of freedom, it was widely agreed upon, coordinated and armed with numbers and artillery as well as with the knowledge that they would not be targeted based on being viewed as “thugs”.
That is what happens when you have power structures working for your benefit. The very thing they were “protesting” is what incensed them to gather at all. Their (white) rights did not secure them the outcomes they normally do. Silly to you, but deadly to everyone on earth.
Their offense can spell and become violence against anyone they feel is an offender. And when the law doesn’t typecast them as the criminals, villains or vigilantes, turning to your Black ass neighbor and asking “why we ain’t do that” IS FUCKING GOOFY!
So be very fucking clear on “why we ain’t do that” when you really want to open that can of worms. Many of you don’t want revolution, evidenced by your voting for Joe Biden. So no, you don’t want to storm shit. You want sassy tweets and Kamala Harris memes.
You wanted to be at brunch if HRC had won in 2016. You want to praise Stacey Abrams the same way she praises Ronald Reagan. You want your “tan suit” president and to ignore the drones or kids in cages that were also part of his legacy.
You wanted “buy Black” campaigns and your favorite celebrities to make “statement art”. You wanted to brag about what sorority your VP pledged, and ignore her crimes against humanity, much like your president elect.
You are Black, but you’re not for Black liberation. You trying to get a seat at the table. And you are rooting for every Black imperialist in the process. So that’s why “leftists failed”. Because you think right is left and the actual left is fascist and you just want “normalcy”.
