For everyone who wants to say that the criminals who broke into the Capital building, disrupting the business of the nation, and, sadly, resulting in the death of a woman, are 'patriots', and like the founding fathers who were enemies of the crown, I have one question.....

Do you remember 2016?

Do you remember election night, and the weeks following?

Do you remember the protests, the violence, the destruction?

Remember your reactions?

Did you think those people were patriots, standing against the oppression of those in power?

Or did you consider them to be criminals? Thugs?

Did you want the authorities to put an end to it?

I did.

What about the 'peaceful protests we saw this spring and summer?

Were they patriots, fighting for freedom?

or were they criminals, and a danger to the nation?

Because if you wanted Trump to invoke the insurrection act to put an end to the violent protests, but consider what happened yesterday to be akin to a thousand Nathan Hales, I have one thing to say

Shut the hell up.

They weren't patriots. They weren't freedom fighters.

They were criminals.

Conservatives (or at least some who CALL themselves conservatives), always talk about how the left are hypocrites.

Well, if you think the criminals yesterday were patriots, look in the damned mirror.

Oh, and you on the left, don't think you've got the moral high ground here.

We spent most of 2020 hearing how violent protest was part of our American DNA. How destruction of property was not 'violence'. And we heard how protest SHOULD make people uncomfortable.

But yesterday you were screaming how these people were terrorists. How they were criminals.

To you I say...

Shut the hell up.

If you support one side's violent protests, and get upset when the other side does it, You need to just shut the hell up and go away.

pandora's box was opened when the left and the media (but I repeat myself) celebrated the violence that took place in 2020, because it was aimed at elected leaders they opposed.

But when it comes their way, they get upset.

The right came out against the violence that we saw last year,but had passive, and in some cases,almost pleading responses to what we saw yesterday.

You want authorities to put down these violent protests when they are protesting against YOU

But it's TOTES ok when it's for you

Right now 90% of those we have elected to represent up don't have the intellectual honesty to hold ANY power over the American people.

ALL of them have demonstrated that they are more than happy to use force to put down violent actors when those actors oppose them.

But how many were willing to do the same when those violent actors supported them, or a cause they supported?

And that includes both Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

None of these people should be in power.

But that is on us. It's up to US who represents us.

And if we keep choosing the same people, we will keep getting the same results.

So, if you want to see this happening until there is an actual civil war, keep electing these people.

There is a saying - we get the government we deserve.

So, it's time to accept it.

We DESERVE what we have been seeing from BOTH sides.

BOTH sides are hypocrites.

BOTH sides are not worthy of the offices they hold.

BOTH sides see us as nothing more than a means to an end.

It's time BOTH sides had their 'network' moment.

We gave them the power.

But we don't have the balls to take it back.

Not violently, but at the ballot box.

You get the government you deserve.

And we deserve the government we have.
