Assess the source
Who shared the info? Where did they get it from? Even if it‘s friends or family, you still need to vet their source. On social media, check most recent posts. For websites, check the “About Us” and “Contact Us” pages to look for background info & legit details

Make it a habit to verify images. For images, you can use reverse image search tools, eg fre apps such as Google, TinEye, Image Search, Photo Sherlock. For vids, you can use YouTube DatViewer, which extracts thumbnails that you can enter into reverse image search
