As the schools close once again, it is important to let young people know that someone is there to listen to their concerns and issues. #onekindword
We know that there are at least 200,000 children in Ireland living with parental alcohol misuse. Growing up with parental alcohol misuse is recognised as an adverse children experience. Research shows it will increase likelihood of poor physical and mental health in later life.
It is more important than ever that we recognises young people’s trauma and support them in #traumainformed environments. We encourage all to look out for these young people and assist where possible. #onekindword
Do you know one of these 200,000 young people?
Why not let a vulnerable child know they are not invisible by carrying out #onekindact - perhaps top up phone credit or lend an unwanted laptop to make sure they can keep in touch, or just ask - how are you?
