Vaccine hesitancy is directly connected to the white privilege that was displayed yesterday.
When our systems repeatedly fail to equitably treat Blacks and Whites, it reinforces the notion that there are 2 Americas.

If we don’t acknowledge that white privilege and racism go hand in hand then we will be further behind in our attempts to gain trust in the Black community. It harkens back to that old saying “fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.”

We witnessed a dual system at play yesterday. Police peacefully engaging with white supremacists who violently destroyed our nation’s Capitol was a clear juxtaposition to the murder of an innocent George Floyd or even a kneeling @Kaepernick7.

Similarly the medical system has failed Black people and continues to do so. Yet here we are asking Black people to trust us again when it comes to the vaccine.
