Umar Akmal was born in 26 May 1990. He is the youngest brother of Kamran and Adnan Akmal who are also cricketers. He is also the cousin of current Pakistan's captain Babar Azam. In 2014 he married, the daughter of Pakistan leg spinner Abdul Qadir and the sister of Usman Qadir
Umar Akmal, a wicket keeper batsman represented Pakistan in the 2008 U/19 Cricket World Cup in Malaysia. After his success he earned himself a first class contact represting Sui Northern Gas. In only his sixth first-class match he smashed 248 off 225 deliveries.
Umar Akmal made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka on 1 August 2009. In his second career ODI he scored his maiden fifty. On next he match he scored his maiden hundred for this effort he was awarded Man of the match. He was considered a future asset for Pakistan cricket.
Umar Akmal has played ODI cricket from 2009-2019 in his ODI career he has scored 3,194 runs at an average of 34.34 including 2 centuries and 20 fifties with the highest score of 102 against Sri Lanka.
Umar Akmal has played 2 world cups (2011,2015) in which he has played 14 matches scoring 404 runs at an average of 36.72 including 2 fifties, and highest score of 71 vs Kenya in his debut World Cup match in 2011.
Umar Akmal has played 84 T20I in which he has scored 1,690 runs which includes 8 fifties, with the highest score of 94 against Australia in 2014 T20 World Cup. Umar Akmal ranks third in the list of leading run-scorers in T20I from Pakistan.
Umar Akmal has featured in 3 T20I world cups (2010-16) in which he has played 20 matches scoring 486 runs at an average of 34.71 including 3 fifties, with the highest score of 94 against Australia in 2014.
Umar Akmal made his Test debut against New Zealand on 23 November 2009, in this match he become only the second Pakistani to score a century on debut away from home he made 129 runs from 160 balls. He has played 16 test scoring 1,003 runs including 6 fifties and a century.
Umar Akmal has played alot of T20 around the world. He has played in many leagues including PSL, CPL, BPL etc. He has played 260 T20 matches in which he has scored 5,530 runs with the highest score of 115* his Strike rate was 130.73. He has 33 fifties and 1 hundred to his name.
In PSL he was bought by Lahore Qalandars in 2016 season. He performed well becoming highest run scorer of the tournament. In 4th season he was released and then bought by Quetta Gladiator, although he was part of 5th season as well but he didn't play because of the ban by PCB.
Umar Akmal has involved in many controversies he has been fined many times, he has also been arrested by the police in 2014 and was remained in the jail for 12 hours.
For being in such controversies he is been in and out by the team. Right now he has been banned by the PCB for 18 months for not disclosing offers related to spot fixing and he is not allowed to play any cricket in these 18 months.
Right now he is being tortured by the whole nation, Yeah we know that there is up and down in careers but we need to support him in his bad days, he is now the "Meme Material" for the memers, he has family we need to be smart here the Nation should understand it.
