Their demands are explicit: overturn democracy & the rule of law, and enforce permanent inequality, through violence if necessary
I try not to be alarmist and usually skew pragmatic and optimistic, but those are not demands that can be met with reason, compromise, humanity

It's always a problem when you can't appeal to what we say are universal values, but the failure to affirm a shared or equal humanity is no minor error, which won't be easily or quickly overturned
