I am lost on how to express the irony—when I read a statement like “this is not who we are” I get the ideological aspirations-but when you are from Hawaii a place stolen and admitted so by the US Congress and President— we know yeah this is who you have been— to us to indigenous
To POC- to blacks—to Wahine-to LBGT, to the poor, to the sick, to white Union leaders, to John Lennon, to Malcolm X, to Robert Kennedy, to JKF, to Dr King, to Kap, to the each and every significant threat against white supremacy and oligarch power. The US has acted in compliance
With hate that empowers white supremacy—In college admissions scandals—in pardons for defenders—in a cop that lets a white kid walk and then attacks a child of color on the next block.

If you are reading this today. Never forget some empowered and allowed advocates of white
Supremacy to seize the US capital. Not because they lost their land, or were forced here in chains, but because they hold fascist views that seek to keep the rest of us down at the moment when their stranglehold is on the verge of collapse.

Any person or pundit who tells us we
Need to empathize and understand the rage and hurt of those who acted today is so out of touch with the oppression and generational trauma and bias we have faced—with grace—with righteous protest—only to be met with hate and cynicism—knowing that if we did what they did today we
Would likely not be around to tweet about it
